Space Burial

Space Burial is a procedure in which sample of ashes are placed in a tube and are launched into space using a rocket. The procedure of this particular burial began at the end of the 20th century but could not make it because of some technical difficulties.

The cost of launching this procedure is very high. Various measures are taken to reduce the cost such as multiple remains are buried with the same rocket.

Currently, one company offers this procedure and they have launched four flights and it is expected that the cost and difficulties of the burials will be reduced. Hence other companies may also enter the market.

We may think that it lacks dignity, but burials in space becomes reality for some. Sending the remains of someone into space has some symbolic dignity to many people, especially if someone had great love and affection of space while they are alive.
