Funeral ArrangementsWhen a loved one passes on, the thoughts must inevitably turn to funeral arrangements. It is not only a time of grief and stress, it is also a time of decisions and questions. If the departed person has created a sense of what is desired, that can make the situation easier. If there are many family members, the decisions may require discussion and more time for input. Honoring the memory of the loved one is truly the most important directive. There are questions of clothing for viewings, floral tributes or charitable donations for a special cause, burial or cremation and all the myriad of choices which attend on all. You encounter choices as a group or individually, will there be music? What type of announcements are required by the personality of the deceased or the legalities which are necessary in newspapers or other public announcements. Who will preside? Will it be a favored clergyman? Are there religious considerations? Will there by eulogies? What will happen at graveside? All of these decisions are like small hurdles which must be overcome in the course of the event. All of these will require thought - and nearly instant decisions. These are difficult and demanding times, you will find your way through the details in the company of friends and family. |
