Many people have decided that if humans have memorials than dogs should have dog memorials. Die hard dog enthusiasts believe that these pets are the most friendly, intelligent, and loyal pets. In life they are a source of pride for their masters and should be the same in death.

Police officers have been known to want members of their dog units buried alongside them when they are finally laid to rest. This is probably because the dog was such a great source of safety and comfort and this is something the person wants to take with them to the after life.

Currently there are large numbers of memorials for dogs, quite possibly more than any other animal known. The UK even has a statue of a large dog commemorating the death of this beloved pet. Memorials for dogs give them their due respect and show the love and affection that is so well deserved.
