Dog caskets come in many shapes, sizes, and styles. These caskets are all designed to hold the deceased body as opposed to the ashes of a dog.

Pets comes in many different sizes and as a result their caskets must also come in many varying sizes. This tends to cause a large disparity in prices, however you will find that the greatest disparities come from the material used and the intricacies involved in the design work.

Generally human caskets come in subtle yet elegant styles and vary little between models. Animal caskets however, are unlike human caskets and often come in many outlandish and unique designs.

Materials

Many people think that steel is the “end all, be all” in terms of casket materials, but the steel casket is only one kind of casket, and even steel caskets come in a variety of forms. Often they are embellished with other materials, designs, and additions in other metals and wood.

Caskets using more than one material have many options as to what other materials may be used. Woods for example come in oak, walnut, pine, mahogany, and cherry.

Modern caskets are often seen with glass, fiberglass, and synthetic materials as well. Caskets may be embellished with intricate carvings, with linings, or with various coverings whether they be cloth or silk or gold.

Costs can be as cheap or expensive as a person wants. Cheap caskets can come in the form of old boxes or hand made wooden plywood caskets. However, if it is worth honoring the memory of a lost and well-loved dog, it may be worth it to purchase something more elaborate.
